Declaration of interest

Last reviewed: 2026-06-18. I review this page at least once a year and whenever a material change occurs.

I publish this declaration so that you can see, before we meet, any interest I hold that is relevant to your care. I do so to meet General Medical Council guidance on financial and commercial arrangements and conflicts of interest, and the duty on consultants under Article 22 of the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) Private Healthcare Market Investigation Order 2014 to tell patients about any financial interest I have in the facilities and equipment used at the premises where I see them.

Where I see private patients, and my interest there

I see private patients at the Clear Ear Clinic, Flat 3 Lister House, 11-12 Wimpole Street, London W1G 9ST. I am a director of, and hold a financial interest in, Clear Ear Clinic Limited, the company that operates this clinic. I am also its CQC Registered Manager.

This website and my private practice are run through NOSE LDN Ltd, trading as noseandsinus.md, of Suite 3b Lister House, 11-12 Wimpole Street, London W1G 9ST. I am a director of and shareholder in this company, so my consultation and procedure fees are income to a company I own.

I have no financial interest in any diagnostic or treatment equipment used at these premises beyond the interest in the two companies named above. I hold no equity, share or financial interest of any kind in any private hospital to which I might refer or admit you.

Where I recommend a test, procedure or operation at the Clear Ear Clinic or any other facility, I tell you so plainly, and you are always free to choose a different facility. My recommendation is based on your clinical interests alone.

NHS appointments

• Substantive Consultant ENT Surgeon, Royal National ENT and Eastman Dental Hospital, part of University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
• Substantive Consultant ENT Surgeon, Moorfields Eye Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

Research funding and industry relationships

• Principal Investigator on commercially sponsored clinical trials of biologic treatments for chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps, including the SYNAPSE study (mepolizumab, GSK) and related work. Trial funding is paid to the institution, not to me personally.
• Occasional paid speaker and advisory-board member for pharmaceutical companies active in rhinology and respiratory medicine. A current list of the relevant companies is available on request.
• Paid expert consultancy, on an occasional basis, through Guidepoint and similar expert networks, on topics in ENT and respiratory medicine.

Professional and educational roles

• Member of committees and working groups for the British Rhinological Society, ENT UK, EAACI and EUFOREA. These roles are voluntary or, where expenses are reimbursed, disclosed individually.
• Editorial and peer-review activity for several ENT and allergy journals.

Charitable roles

• Trustee of the Rhinology and Laryngology Research Fund, which supports ENT research and the delivery of care in low- and middle-income countries.
• Founder trustee of AbScent, the smell-disorders charity supporting patients with anosmia and parosmia.
